Orban Government and OTP Join Forces to Restore Iconic Godollo Palace
Hungary's Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Sandor Csanyi, OTP Bank CEO, announced a joint restoration of the Godollo Palace.
Construction and Transport Minister Janos Lazar stated that the Hungarian government and OTP Bank will jointly rebuild the palace, marking a "historic day".
- OTP Bank is contributing 20 billion forints (€51 million) for the restoration.
- The government will also contribute 20 billion forints.
Sandor Csanyi said it was an honor to take part in this joint effort, noting that it was “sad to see part of the palace falling into decay — about 6,000 square meters".
Csanyi agreed to "adopt" the palace after being approached by Minister Lazar, and they reached an agreement on cooperation, with a focus on sustainability and self-sufficiency.
