The first live fire of a ground-launched AGM-179 Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) took place at Yuma Proving Ground with a US Army-provided munition.
Lockheed Martin performed the live fire in August 2025, using internal investment funding. According to Casey Walsh, multidomain missile systems director, the test was a "successful" milestone for the JAGM Quad Launcher (JQL) technology.
The ground-launched version of JAGM was fired in preparation for a future vertical launch configuration.
