Indian Motorcycle Changes Ownership
US motorcycle maker Indian Motorcycles has undergone a change in ownership.
Polaris, the current owner, has sold a majority stake in Indian Motorcycle to Carolwood, a real estate and private equity firm.
According to the deal, Indian Motorcycle will continue to operate as part of Polaris until the transaction is complete, expected to occur in early 2026.
- Manufacturing facilities in Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Monticello, Minnesota will transition to the new standalone company.
- The industrial design and technology center in Burgdorf, Switzerland will also transition after the deal is finalized.
Polaris will retain a small equity in the new company.
No official statement has been provided regarding the future plans of the new company.
