Apple Discontinues Clips App
Apple has dropped support for its Clips app, a Snapchat competitor. The app will no longer receive updates.
Users who have the app installed can continue to use it, but new users cannot download it as it has been removed from the App Store since October 10. Previously downloaded apps can still be redownloaded.
Apple says to save any videos you want to keep as there's no guarantee they'll stick around if the app stops working.
The app may still work for now, but future iOS updates could lead to its demise. Apple won't provide support if issues arise.
As of 2025, Snapchat remains the leading platform, with Instagram Stories still lagging behind.
