Over 500,000 Palestinians have returned to Gaza City, according to Gaza's civil defence agency.
Hamas will begin releasing Israeli hostages held in Gaza on Monday, a top official told AFP, before the US President Donald Trump's peace summit in Egypt.
"According to the signed agreement, the prisoner exchange is set to begin on Monday morning as agreed,"
said Hamas official Osama Hamdan. The release is part of a deal where Hamas will free 20 Israeli captives in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.
