Drilling of three geothermal wells is set to begin in Kosice, Slovakia, potentially supplying one of Europe's largest geothermal heating plants.

The project, located at the Svinica-Durkov site, involves drilling one production well and two reinjection wells to depths of approximately 3700 meters.

The geothermal project is a collaboration between GEOTERM KOSICE and MH Teplarensky holding, with significant participation from the City of Kosice.

The estimated capacity of the geothermal resource is 90 to 100 MWt, corresponding to about 175,000 MWh of thermal energy annually.
