Japanese Firm to Aid Hawaii in Achieving Clean Energy Goals

A collaboration agreement has been signed between Hawaii and Japan's largest power generation company, JERA Co. Inc., to help the state achieve its clean energy and decarbonization goals.

Josh Green, along with over a dozen state government officials, traveled to Japan, where the strategic partnering agreement was signed on October 6.

JERA has committed to eliminating carbon dioxide emissions from its domestic and international operations by 2050 through the use of renewable energy, greener fuels, and zero-emission thermal power.
