New Speed Limits on Oxford-Reading Route
New 40mph and 50mph speed limits will be implemented on the A4074, connecting Oxford to Reading.
The speed limits will be added to the A4074 dual carriageway between Heyford Hill roundabout and Caversham, passing through Nuneham Courteney, Berinsfield, Wallingford, and Woodcote.
- A 40mph limit will be introduced on parts of the Eastern and Southern bypass.
- A 50mph limit will be introduced on the A4130 Wallingford bypass.
Currently, most stretches of road have a national speed limit of 70mph for dual carriageways and 60mph for single carriageways.
The decision was approved by Councillor Andrew Gant, cabinet member for transport management, on October 9.
