A former Union County Sheriff's Office employee, Morgan Crider, who also serves as the county's E-911 director, has filed a lawsuit against Sheriff Billy Breeding.
Crider accuses Sheriff Breeding of filing a false disciplinary complaint against her, terminating her employment in retaliation for speaking out, and making sexual comments towards her.
The incident unfolded in the fall of 2024, with the lawsuit filed on October 10, 2025. The disciplinary action notice was issued by Sheriff Breeding on September 20, 2024.
Crider said the back-and-forth between her and the county began on Sept. 20, 2024, when Breeding issued a notice of disciplinary action against Crider.
