A total of 12 motorists were arrested for DUI during the week of Oct. 6-12 on Big Island roadways.
According to the Hawai‘i Police Department, this brings the total number of DUI arrests for the year to 708, a 7.69% decrease from the 767 made during the same period in 2024.
An updated review of major crashes found 794 major crashes so far in 2025, a 3.25% increase from the 769 major crashes reported by the same time last year.
