Crown Prosecution Service Announces Charges

The Crown Prosecution Service has announced that three individuals, Khondaker Fuad Hasan, Liu Xu Hopkins, and Benjamin Hopkins, have been charged with human trafficking offences.

These charges follow an investigation by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit into alleged organised human trafficking and money laundering offences at seven venues across England, including locations in Chippenham, Gloucester, Bury St Edmonds, Reading, Cheltenham, and Ely.

“The Crown Prosecution Service has decided to prosecute Khondaker Fuad Hasan, Liu Xu Hopkins and Benjamin Hopkins with human trafficking offences - following a police investigation into organised trafficking for sexual exploitation, controlling sex workers for gain and transferring criminal proceeds.” - Andrew Eddy, Senior Crown Prosecutor

According to Andrew Eddy, the decision to prosecute was made after establishing sufficient evidence and determining it is in the public interest to pursue criminal proceedings.
