The 2025 Shanghai Masters was a family affair, with cousins Valentin Vacherot and Arthur Rinderknech meeting in the final. Vacherot won the title, defeating Rinderknech 4–6, 6–3, 6–3.
Vacherot's victory was a significant upset, as Rinderknech was 150 places above him in the ATP Rankings. Along the way, Vacherot also defeated 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the semi-final, as well as 14th seed Alexander Bublik and 10th seed Holger Rune.
