Lumbee Tribe Establishes New Economic Development and Tourism Department
The Lumbee Tribal Council has approved the creation of a new Economic Development and Tourism Department during their October business meeting.
This move follows the establishment of an Agriculture and Natural Resources Department in 2022 and a Health and Human Services Department in 2023.
Economic development is more than a pathway to growth, it is the living expression of our sovereignty and the foundation of true self-governance.
Lumbee Tribal Chairman John L. Lowery expressed gratitude to Speaker Alex Baker and Committee Chairman Gerald Goolsby for their support in passing the new department through the Tribal Council.
