MLB Expansion: Salt Lake City and Portland in the Running
Major League Baseball's potential expansion has sparked debate among sports analysts, with many predicting one team will be added in the east and one in the west.
Salt Lake City and Portland, Oregon, are considered top contenders for the western team.
“For me, it’s Salt Lake City and Portland,”said John Canzano, a sports journalist and radio show host in Oregon.
“I think they’re underserved markets.”
Canzano believes Portland would be an ideal location, but acknowledges Salt Lake City might have an edge.
“If this is a marathon, and it feels like one to me, Salt Lake City is ahead,”Canzano said.
Salt Lake City's advantage lies in its established ownership group, The Larry H. Miller Group.
