Rebecca Orwin's debut middle-grade novel, The Monsters at the End of the World, was acquired by Puffin in a six-figure deal.

Orwin shares her experience, stating

“It didn’t feel very real,”
when she landed the deal. Her novel, to be published in January, features black and white illustrations by Oriol Vidal.

A lifelong book-lover, Orwin drew inspiration from authors like Jonathan Stroud and Philip Pullman. She pursued a Masters in Creative Writing before working towards her author dreams.

Orwin emphasizes the importance of hard work, talent, and luck in achieving success, stating

“You need the hard work, you need the talent but you also need that little bit of luck.”
