Grand Haven residents will make important decisions in the upcoming election, including a public safety millage and local offices.
The Grand Haven Department of Public Safety is seeking to pass its first millage to upgrade facilities and equipment, generating $15-16 million over 10 years.
"Every election in my opinion, local election is important. This year especially is a big one,"
said Grand Haven City Clerk Maria Boersma. The millage would cost a $250,000 household an additional $250 annually in property taxes.
