Joe Nichols, a country artist known for his classic country heaters, praises Zach Top for reviving the neotraditional sound, saying it has "opened doors back up" for him.
Nichols has been laying down classic country gold with hits like "Brokenheartsville" and "She Only Smokes When She Drinks". Although he changed his sound to fit the radio game and bro country, his music remained more traditional than what was on the radio.
With his recent projects, Nichols has returned to his classic country roots, including his 2024 album Honky Tonks And Country Songs, which features a cover of "A Country Boy Can Survive", paying homage to old Bocephus.
