Georgia Lawmaker Steps Down

A state representative, Marcus Wiedower, is resigning from the General Assembly due to his company's rapid growth.

Wiedower, who has been in the House for six years, stated that the expansion will require more travel, taking him away from the Capitol during the legislative session.

“While I’m stepping away from elected office, I look forward to remaining actively involved in our community and continuing to help tackle Georgia’s most pressing challenges, especially attainable housing through my work at Hillpointe,”

He works for Hillpointe, a real estate development and investment management firm, which has grown significantly since he joined six years ago.

This resignation brings the total number of vacancies in the House and Senate to four.
