Tshwane Metro Police Prioritizes GBV During Festive Season
The Tshwane metro police has announced that the fight against gender-based violence (GBV) will be its top priority during the upcoming festive season.
According to TMPD Chief Yolanda Faro, a 10-point plan has been outlined to ensure the safety of residents and visitors, focusing on areas such as:
- Residential and business robberies
- Illegal mining and immigration
- Illegal firearms
- Counterfeit goods and drug trafficking
- Enforcement of by-laws, including road safety inspections
- Extortions and kidnappings
"We also now going into the 16 Days of Activism, so we can vigorously now highlight again the crimes against women and children and the crimes that they are against the elderly.
