Cornwall Council Adopts Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan
Cornwall's Truth and Reconciliation Action Plan, including about 57 recommended actions, has been adopted by the council.
The plan's adoption marks a step towards truth and reconciliation, with the council now set to review and approve the implementation of the recommendations.
"We're bringing community together and really thinking about how we're creating a gentle, accessible, supportive space for people to learn about truth and reconciliation, to embody and actualize those things,"
said Akwesasronon community collaborator Abraham Francis, who spoke to the council about the importance of the plan and his collaboration with Cornwall's equity, belonging, and culture specialist Farhana Meghji.
The council's adoption of the plan is a significant move forward, but the deeper work of implementing the recommendations lies ahead.
