Sherwood Park Rams U16 Season Ends in Close Playoff Loss

The Sherwood Park U16 Rams' season came to a close on Saturday, Oct. 25 with a 12-10 loss to the top-ranked Spruce Grove Cougars in the first round of the Capital District Minor Football Association's 12-side Tier 1 Morgan Division.

"We saw four full quarters of football from the team," said U16 Rams head coach Bill Nyszczuk. "That was one of the things that we strived to do. Sometimes the team looks really good in some quarters and may lapse in judgment, penalties, and bad plays in others, but Saturday was four good quarters of football. The team played very well together in all three aspects of the game: special teams, offense and defense."

Playing at Clarke Park in Edmonton, the Cougars opened up the scoring with a deep pass that led to a touchdown.

Author's summary: Rams' season ends with close playoff loss.
