October is breast cancer awareness month, and a local hospital is highlighting the importance of early detection.
According to recent research, one in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
The CDC states that breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women.
We’ve made great progress in terms of treatment of breast cancer and if we get early detection, then there are multitudes of treatments that now we can do, I would say 25 years ago, that could not happen.
