Liverpool's Centre-Back Signing Dilemma
Liverpool are expected to sign at least one centre-back during the 2026 summer transfer window due to uncertainty in their defence, with Ibrahima Konate's contract ending next June.
The Reds previously tried to sign Marc Guehi, but the move fell through. Guehi will be available for free next summer, and Liverpool may face competition for the Crystal Palace captain.
Alternatively, Bayern Munich's Dayot Upamecano has been named as a potential target, also becoming a free agent in 2026.
Liverpool may have to look elsewhere for their next centre-back addition.
