ATV Crash in Penobscot County Leaves Woman in Critical Condition
A 70-year-old woman from Stacyville, Maine, is in critical condition after an ATV crash on Monday morning.
According to Maine State Police, Joyce Cummings was driving the ATV on Kelly Road when it crashed at 6:12 a.m. She suffered severe injuries and was taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor by LifeFlight.
Preliminary investigation suggests that items fell off the back of the ATV, causing it to turn and crash. Cummings was thrown from the vehicle and was not wearing a helmet.
The crash is still under investigation.
Police said the ATV was traveling on the road when items began to fall off the back, and the ATV appeared to turn and crash.
