North Carolina Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul Newby considered Monday a significant day for the state, marking the official rollout of the e-Courts system in Iredell County.
"This is an exciting, historic day,"
Newby stated, joined by other officials at the Iredell County Hall of Justice. Senior Resident Superior Court Judge Joe Crosswhite added,
"We're ready to start doing this."
The e-Courts system modernizes the state's court system, transitioning from paper to digital and cloud-based technologies. Iredell Clerk of Court Jim Mixson noted that the upgrades will provide the public with 24-hour remote access to court records and other applications.
