Mayo FC to Benefit from Budget 2026

Mayo FC has been allocated two full-time staff as part of the Budget 2026 announcement, which will contribute to the club's future growth.

The roles, yet to be specified, will bring the total number of full-time staff in Irish soccer academies to over 60, up from the current 10.

Following Brexit, Irish players are having to wait until they are 18 to make the move to England to play the game, and this announcement will help towards the development of players here at home.

Mayo FC Chairman, Joe Faughnan, welcomes the news, suspecting the roles will be filled by an Academy Manager and Director of Coaching.

This allocation will support the development of Irish soccer and provide opportunities for players to grow and compete at the top level.
