The City of Great Bend has announced three additional rounds of mosquito spraying for this month, starting on the 23rd.
The streets department will fog areas between 8 p.m. and midnight. Citizens are advised to wait 30 minutes to an hour before going outside after fogging is completed in their area to minimize chemical inhalation risks.
Two vehicles, each with different chemicals, will be used for spraying. One vehicle will cover the east side, while the other covers the west side, alternating each session.
In case of heavy rain, the fogging schedule will be adjusted, as spraying is not effective in wet conditions due to insecticide washout. The City will announce alternate spraying dates if needed.
The City of Great Bend will continue monitoring mosquito activity and add further spraying dates if necessary.
