Saleshando Calls for Accountability on Health Emergency
Leader of Opposition Dumelang Saleshando has called on President Duma Boko to provide accountability regarding the declaration of a State of Public Health Emergency.
Saleshando expressed concern that the declaration was made immediately after Parliament's winter session, dismissing the move as a mere drama.
We seem to have a trend of a national president who acts alone on very important national issues and remember as Parliament our duty is to provide oversight on the conduct of the executive.
Saleshando warned that this decision could clip the legislative's power and urged legislators to take note, as it may lead to worse outcomes if the executive continues to make decisions without oversight.
