UAB Taps Alex Mortensen as Interim Head Coach
Alex Mortensen, hired as the team's offensive coordinator in 2023, has been named the UAB interim head coach.
"I certainly want to thank (Athletic Director) Mark Ingram for expressing the confidence in me and our administration to do this for the remainder of the season,"
Mortensen expressed gratitude to former head coach Trent Dilfer and acknowledged the circumstances of his appointment.

- The Blazers are currently 2-4 (0-3) on the year.
"He's been our offensive coordinator, as you know, for the last two and a half seasons,"
