Crime Rates and Police Presence in Downtown Huntington

Since the introduction of the new downtown police unit near Pullman Square, police have issued nearly 300 citations and reports, as well as made 10 felony arrests within the last three months.

The new unit provides daily police presence throughout downtown, but according to Mayor Patrick Farrell, there is no set timeline for moving officers into the precinct building in Pullman.

Expansion of Project Lights On

Project Lights On, which aims to replace faulty streetlights through community reporting, is expanding into the Fairfield neighborhood, as announced by Mayor Farrell during a City Council meeting.

Project Lights On will now shift into the Fairfield neighborhood.

This project is part of efforts to make neighborhoods safer in Huntington.
