Top seed Naomi Osaka is competing for her first title at the Japan Open. During the tournament, Osaka suffered a left leg injury while playing against defending champion Suzan Lamens.
Osaka injured her left leg when Lamens smashed a backhand shot, but she decided to continue playing.
Despite the injury, Osaka started the third set strongly, taking a 5-0 lead. After a medical timeout, she returned to the court with a strapped left thigh.
Osaka's determination paid off as she managed to defeat Lamens, securing her spot in the quarterfinals.
