WTA Rankings Update
Aryna Sabalenka secured the year-end No 1 spot in the WTA Rankings despite missing out on a four-peat at the Wuhan Open.
Sabalenka held off competition from Iga Swiatek, while Coco Gauff improved her chances of becoming the American No 1. Sabalenka's streak of three consecutive titles (2018, 2019, and 2024) was ended by Jessica Pegula in the semi-final.

- Amanda Anisimova: 5,989 points
- Mirra Andreeva: 4,698 points
- Jessica Pegula: 4,653 points
- Jasmine Paolini: 4,156 points
Sabalenka's victory in the rankings battle came after Swiatek's defeat in the quarter-final.
Coco Gauff held off Anisimova, while Mboko and Raducanu missed out.
