According to the Henley Passport Index, Canada has surpassed the U.S. in terms of visa-free access to countries around the world.
The index ranks Canada in 9th place, while the U.S. has fallen behind. A year ago, both countries were tied at 7th place.
The shift is attributed to countries imposing reciprocal policies in response to new U.S. visa restrictions or entry requirements, according to Henley and Partners.
Canadian passport holders have overtaken Americans in terms of visa-free access to the world.
