Concern About a Neighbor's Drinking and Driving
A person is concerned about their alcoholic neighbor who drinks and drives home from a nearby bar. The neighbor also drives a shuttle for airport crews and others, but it is believed that he does not drink before these rides.
The person is aware that their neighbor frequents the bar often and then drives home, which is about a mile away, on a major highway. This situation causes concern for the safety of others, and the person is considering reporting their neighbor to the police to prevent a potential crash with severe consequences.
I don’t want him to lose his job, or face DUI charges if he’s caught, but even more, I don’t want him to have to confront knowing he badly injured or killed someone.
The person feels guilty about reporting their neighbor, as he has helped them in the past, and doing so would make them feel like an ingrate.
