Truck Driver in Country Illegally Causes Fatal Crash in California
A truck driver, identified as 21-year-old Jashanpreet Singh, was charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence of a drug causing injury.
The chain-reaction crash occurred on Interstate 10 in Ontario, California, and resulted in the deaths of three people. Authorities alleged that Singh was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.
Singh is in the United States illegally, and an immigration detainer has been placed on him, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
