President Marcos Signs Law Banning POGOs
President Marcos has signed a law banning Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs), over a year after ordering a crackdown on them due to links to cyberscams, money laundering, human trafficking, and other illegal activities.
The law, Republic Act 12312, was enacted on October 23 and institutionalizes a policy announced by Marcos during his State of the Nation Address last year, effectively repealing a 2021 law that taxed POGOs.
