Film Shorts // October 29 – November 4, 2025
Two new films are opening this week:
- Aaryan (NR): An Indian crime thriller starring Vishnu Vishal as a struggling writer who plans a series of perfect murders. The film also features Vani Bhojan, Chandru, Vaani Kapoor, K. Selvaraghavan, and Shraddha Srinath.
- Anniversary (R): A family drama that critiques fascism, starring Diane Lane as a Georgetown law professor whose son marries a former student who wants to repeal the U.S. Constitution. Directed by Jan Komasa, the film attempts to depict America's descent into fascism but falls short in its execution.
Polish director Jan Komasa knows about societies with thought police, but his depiction of America’s descent into fascism isn’t thought through well enough.
