Tampon Tuesday Sarnia Chapter Seeks More Donations
About 50 boxes of menstrual products are donated to the Inn of the Good Shepherd's food bank each month through Sarnia's Tampon Tuesday chapter.
According to charity executive director Myles Vanni, these products are gone from the shelves within two weeks.
“It just goes to show how bad poverty has gotten in Sarnia-Lambton and how much people are struggling,”said Michelle Parks, head of Sarnia’s Tampon Tuesday chapter.
Since 2019, the group has collected nearly 12,000 boxes of menstrual products through monthly donation drives held on the first Tuesday of every month at Stokes Inland.
- Most donations go to the Inn of the Good Shepherd.
- Some are diverted to other organizations by request.
