Sinkholes Reappear in Khayelitsha Shacks

Families in the SST section of Town Two, Khayelitsha, have been forced to vacate their homes due to sinkholes opening up beneath their shacks.

The cause of the sinkholes is a collapsing sewer line, according to community reports. However, the City of Cape Town is unable to access the sewer line without relocating the residents.
