Blue Jays' Dramatic Loss in Game 6 of the World Series
The Toronto Blue Jays lost Game 6 in a dramatic fashion, with a game-ending double play.
Trailing 3-1 in the ninth inning, Addison Barger hit a double that got stuck between the outfield fence and the turf.
"That's such a hard wall, so it's very impressive that the ball stuck in there,"
said Blue Jays outfielder Daulton Varsho, adding that it was probably the only spot where the ball could have gotten stuck.
Barger and Myles Straw came around to score but were returned to their bases after the umpire signaled a ground-rule double due to the ball being lodged in the fence.
The Blue Jays challenged the play, but the call was upheld, as a fair ball lodged in the outfield wall padding is considered a ground-rule double.
Addison Barger stated
"I was being too aggressive"on the game-ending double play.
