Helmsdale Community Council has been informed that there is no start date for dredging work at the village's harbour, prompting concerns over the local economy and livelihoods.
The council is considering lodging a formal complaint due to ongoing delays, with chairperson Allison Cowie expressing frustration over the need for further core sampling by Highland Council before dredging can begin.
"It's absolutely just delay after delay," said Ms Cowie. "And it's not all Highland Council's fault — some of it lies with Marine Scotland."
