Florida Atlantic men's basketball secured its first win of the season against Boston College on Monday night, with guard Yohann Sissoko hitting a game-saving three-pointer in an 83-78 overtime victory.
The game took place at a sold-out Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena, marking the third time a power conference opponent has played at "The Elly" in four years. This followed an impressive 42-point win against Florida Tech, where guard Devin Vanterpool scored 24 points.
"I don't know that this [game] was pretty, maybe that's just part of it, but what our guys did show is some real fight and resolve,"
said head coach John Jakus, praising his team's determination. Jakus also acknowledged the role of the fans, noting that when the team seemed defeated, the fan spirit helped them get back into the game.
