A group of Catholics has been praying the rosary outside a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility in Broadview, Illinois, every Friday for 19 years.
According to participants, the interactions with ICE agents were largely cordial, with priests and others sometimes allowed to pray with detainees on buses before deportation.
As a person of faith, as a leader of faith, to not speak of it is simply unethical — and sinful, said Rev. Brendan Curran, a Dominican priest.
