Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing River Plate defender Lautaro Rivero, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.
Since joining the team, Micky Van de Ven has established himself as a starter, but struggled with fitness problems over the last two seasons. In his absence, former manager Ange Postecoglou used Ben Davies and Archie Gray in the left centre-back position.
However, Ben Davies is a left-back by trait, while Archie Gray is a midfielder, and Spurs lack a natural left-footed centre-back to support Micky Van de Ven.
It appears that Thomas Frank is looking to resolve this issue next year by potentially signing Lautaro Rivero.
No official statement has been made by the club.
