The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) failed to respond adequately to over 100 consumer reports during the SSB Group collapse, according to an independent review by the Legal Services Board (LSB).
The LSB, the oversight regulator for legal services in England and Wales, commissioned the review in April 2024, following the regulatory handling of events leading to SSB Group's collapse.
Within 12 months, independent reviews of the SRA's handling of SSB Group and Axiom Ince found the SRA had failed to act adequately, effectively, and efficiently.
