Committee Created to Deliver Ambitious Energy Policy
The Cayman Islands Government has established a new Energy Policy Implementation Committee (EPIC), replacing the Energy Policy Council, in accordance with the updated National Energy Policy approved 18 months ago.
According to a release, EPIC will be an active participant in the implementation of the policy, ensuring the effective completion of strategic actions outlined in the Cabinet-approved Plan. The committee's responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the delivery process
- Tracking milestones
- Ensuring the completion of strategic initiatives
Despite the updated National Energy Policy being approved in April 2024, little progress has been made.
No significant developments have occurred since the policy's approval.
