Is Your Property a Flood Risk?
Residents of Blakehurst and Kyle Bay Wards are urged to speak out about the draft Blakehurst and Kogarah Bay Ward Overland Flood Study.
Nearly 5,000 householders have received letters stating their properties are at risk of flooding, according to Georges River Council's study.
Residents have until the end of October to make a submission to the council regarding the proposed tagging of their properties.
They are distressed about the loss of insurance, the loss to the value of their properties, and of not being able to redevelop.
Civil engineer Khaled Azer, a Blakehurst resident, has been contacted by concerned residents who have been tagged in the draft flood study.
Azer has 14 years of experience in local government and is helping residents navigate the issue.
