The government of President Javier Milei emerged victorious from Sunday’s legislative election, a crucial test for the two years remaining in his term.
La Libertad Avanza secured the most votes nationwide with 40.84% of the vote, and even won Buenos Aires province, the Peronist stronghold.
“How beautiful violet looks on the country,”
he exclaimed, referring to his party’s color. The Peronist alliance came in second with 31.67%, while Provincias Unidas failed to gain traction.
