FIFA ASEAN Cup Announced for Southeast Asia
The tournament was announced during the 47th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur. FIFA and ASEAN have announced the launch of a new FIFA ASEAN Cup, as part of plans to boost football development in the region.
A renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and ASEAN Secretary-General Kao Kim Hourn. National teams from all ASEAN member states will participate in the tournament, inspired by the 2021 Arab Cup.
The agreement between FIFA and ASEAN will help make a difference in the region through football.
