Chatbots are not designed for kids, and there have been lawsuits against AI companies due to potential harm to children, prompting an investigation by the Federal Trade Commission.
According to Dr. Marylynn Wei, psychiatrist and mental health consultant, ChatGPT is building an age prediction system to identify users under 18, as the minimum age to use ChatGPT is 13.
- The age predictive system will help parents know if parental approval is needed for their child to use ChatGPT.
